A PENSIVE MOOD
Through the waning window
Of my lonely room,
The evening came
With a pensive mood...
My book got listless
Lethargic
And I let it go
Close.
I guess I could have fought
That engaging hush...
I could have stayed aloof
Or could have lit a candle...
Instead
I chose to entertain it,
For I’ve known that evenings
With such a pensive mood,
If ushered in
In sympathy,
and held in solitude,
Evoke the sweetest memories
Of cherished moments
Of your love... and mine. |
