The New Age`s Wall

Along the humanity ´s history lots of walls were built in order to protect reigns against their enemies. Meanwhile, they were not able enough to avoid wars or keeping themselves safe from the enemies that time brought.

The more recent wall which scarred the world was the Berlin´s one. At that age, the Cold War was taking place and the world was divided into two ideological blocks. On the one side, the capitalists, led by U.S and its allies. On the other, the communists, conducted  by the Soviet Union.

In the 1990´s, the Cold War ended when its most important symbol came down: the Berlin´s Wall. During almost half a century, that barrier was responsible for dividing not only a city, but also and mainly, the whole world, not considering the non-aligned countries. After its fall, we could not expect another wall like that, but things change over the years and so politics as well.

Aiming to be coherent with his promises, Donald Trump has signed an official decree in order to build a new symbolic and stupid wall in the border with Mexico, trying to avoid illegal immigration. However, this wall does not only divide U.S and Mexico. Indeed, it separates U.S and the entire Latin America.

It is not anymore a Cold War Wall. It is, above all, a North-South wall, an offensive and arrogant symbol which will encourage the hate and will cause lots of pain to thousands of people all over the world, given that its bricks will cost not only money and sweat, but, overall, blood and tears.

A New Wall is coming … together with a New Age.

A New Age is about to raise … together with a New Symbol of the old human distrust.
